PAINTING HOLIDAY IN BARBADOS
Two Weeks - December / January 2009 Dates to be finalised
Back to Painting Holiday Heaven home page

When I visited Barbados on the Athena cruise I was impressed with the island's
natural beauty and the wide variety of inspirational attractions on offer.
I decided that I would return to do a Painting Holiday to show others the
wonderful places I had seen, to paint them and expore this lovely island.
I have designed a Holiday Program which encompasses all the best that
Barbados has to offer the painting holidaymaker. Below are just some of the
attractions we will visit. There will of course be plenty of time for the beaches,
swimming, shopping and relaxing too.
We will take a dive in the Atlantis submarine to 150 feet to see the
wrecks, reefs and sealife!

Sunbury Plantation House offers a guided tour and the chance to paint this elegant
house and grounds.

We will take our time wandering around Orchid World, painting the fabulous
array of orchids there in the beautifully landscaped gardens.

We will also have the chance to swim with turtles! Get up close and personal
with these magnificent creatures.

There will be other outings to Wildlife Reserve, the capital Bridgetown, Earthworks pottery
and Cherry Tree Hill.
Plus, St John's Church with its magnificent ocean views

Harrison's Cave

and famous Bathsheba beach.

Our accommodation will be in a villa or hotel on the West Coast, close to the beach.
Accommodation with breakfast is included in the holiday price.
We will take other meals on our outings. There are many fine restaurants, cafes
and eateries in Barbados.
The beach at Speightstown

Price for this holiday will be approximately £1500.
Included in the price are transfers, accommodation with breakfast, tuition, excursions and flights from London.

Here is a typical holiday agenda.
PAINTING HOLIDAY IN BARBADOS JANUARY 2009 ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrive at our accommodation and settle in, unpack, relax, have a drink.
Get together - Welcome to Barbados talk. We will also discuss what we
will be doing on this holiday, our itinerary, my teaching methods and
any other relevant matters.
Getting to know our surroundings - explore and evening meal at nearby restaurant.
Each morning after breakfast we will get together and I will demonstrate art techniques
and discuss the day's activities.
If there's anything you specifically want to learn to draw or
paint, eg. people, perspective, water, flowers etc. then just ask
- I take requests!
We will have a get together each evening to look at and discuss artworks we've produced.
We will take lunch and evening meals in the vicinity we are visiting each day.
Below is a "working itinerary", although it can be subject to change.
I have included attractions and places of interest that we will visit, but not necessarily in this order.
I have tried to vary the activities as much as possible to keep it
interesting and give my guests a comprehensive taste of Barbados. It
may be possible to visit two places on the same day where they are
close together, but this really depends on how we are progressing with
the artworks and how we feel on the day ... if tired we will rest!
