The painting below was the turning point of the holiday, when we all began to explore a random colour technique. Please read below in Pippas section for explanation!

This is a mixed media study. Below are 2 versions which I enhanced digitally

PIPPA WILSON

Pippa started off the holiday by using Watercolour paints, in her usual style. She had not used watercolours very much for many years and usually works in Acrylics. She produced some lovely strong paintings of Zaton and Dubrovnik Old City. Images below are protected by copyright of Pippa Wilson and may not be used without Pippa's permission. Pippa's website is at www.artinspired.co.nz

It is my job to get the more experienced artists out of their comfort zones and into a more experimental frame of mind. I covered a piece of watercolour paper with random colours. Then drew a picture of Dubrovnik Harbour over it, regardless of whether the colours were in the correct places.
Pippa and John both started to experiment with this idea.
Pippa liked the idea of painting the colours of one scene, then drawing a totally different scene on top.
She produced some exciting and unusual paintings.

Imaginative scene with sea creatures!
